What valley families ask first
What does a plan cost?
Most plans are a flat fee, which I tell you at the end of the first meeting, before anything is drafted. Probate and long-term care work depend on what's involved; I'll give you a written estimate.
Can you come to my parent's home or care facility?
Yes. I make home and hospital visits anywhere in the valley, and I bring the witnesses and the notary for signing.
Which office should I go to?
Whichever is closest. I keep one set of files, so it doesn't matter which you choose, and you can switch any time.
I'm the grown child. Can I make the appointment for my parent?
Of course. I'll want to meet your parent too, and talk with them for part of it on their own, because the plan has to be theirs.
Do you speak Spanish?
Conversationally. For legal documents I recommend bringing a family member or I can arrange an interpreter, so nothing is missed.
How long does it take to finish a plan?
Most are signed within a month of the first meeting. If there's a health worry, tell me and we'll move faster.
What if my family lives in other states?
That's common. Children can join by phone or video, and executors can do most of their work from wherever they live.
Do you keep a copy of my plan?
Yes. You keep the originals; I keep a copy so your family can reach it if the originals can't be found.
Ask me the one you didn't see
Call or write. If it's quicker to answer on the phone, I'll call you back.
